We prefer to have a referral from another physician. This policy is essential for some insurance carriers. It also makes obtaining prior records far more straightforward.
There are some situations where this is very difficult.  An example would be a patient with a whiplash injury who has only auto insurance and who does not have a physician.  In such circumstances we are happy to schedule you for evaluation so that treatment options can be discussed.
To minimize inconvenience, we suggest that a referral form is completed. Whenever possible we, require faxed copies of relevant records. This helps considerably with the efficiency with which patients can be seen.

If there is a medical urgency then, please have a nurse or physician call us and speak to either Dr. Harries or an RN so that the appointment can be expedited. Occasionally, patients wish to self refer for the purpose of withholding information. When this occurs we automatically discharge the individual concerned.
