There are several approaches to chronic pain; we adopt a purely rehabilitative approach. Our goal is to improve your functional ability, personal independence and return to work (if applicable). We are not a palliative care center. We do not treat patients who have no desire to improve their function or those who wish to take narcotic pain killers indefinitely.

Initially, you will be evaluated by a physician who is ACGME Board Certified in Pain. The physician will take a history of your pain, examine you, review your previous records and look at any MRI films you have. You will be asked what goals you have and what you wish to achieve that you cannot do at present. Following this a multidisciplinary plan will be laid out for you. This may involve medications, physical therapy, interventional procedures, psychology and sometimes a sleep study.
